Data Processing Related to the Student Survey (Student Referendum)

III. Fundamental Principles of Data Processing

The Data Controller processes personal data lawfully, fairly, and transparently.
Personal data is collected only for specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes and not further processed in a manner incompatible with those purposes.
The Data Controller takes all reasonable steps to ensure that the data it processes are accurate and kept up to date.
Data are stored only for as long as is necessary and in an identifiable form.
Appropriate technical and organizational measures are applied to ensure data security and to prevent unauthorized or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction, or damage.

IV. Characteristics of Data Processing

The National Conference of Student Unions (HÖOK), as the national representative body of students under Section 62 (1) of the NHEA, conducts activities aimed at supporting higher education development and representing student interests.

Purpose of Processing
To assess, via questionnaires, topics relevant to students in Hungarian higher education, ensuring that only students participate.

  • NEPTUN code
  • Name of higher education institution
  • Any additional information provided in the questionnaire

Legal Basis
Processing is carried out under Article 6(1)(e) GDPR: performance of a task carried out in the public interest.

Source of Data
Directly from the data subject.

Recipients
Only those employees of the Data Controller for whom access is strictly necessary.
The Data Controller uses Google Forms (Google LLC, business Gmail). Google acts as a data processor and may only process data according to the Controller’s instructions.

Transfers
No transfer to third countries or international organizations.

Retention Period
Until the compilation of statistics and professional materials, but no longer than 1 year.

Automated Decision-Making / Profiling
Not carried out.

V. Data Subject Rights

  • Right to Information – provided through this Notice.
  • Right of Access – request confirmation and access to personal data and related information.
  • Right to Rectification – request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to Erasure – request deletion under the conditions set out in Article 17 GDPR.
  • Right to Restriction of Processing – request restriction under the conditions set out in Article 18 GDPR.
  • Right to Object – object to processing under Article 21 GDPR, including processing for direct marketing.

How to Exercise Rights
By email (info@hook.hu), by post to the registered seat, or in person. The Controller must respond within 30 days.

Post-Mortem Rights
Within five years after the data subject’s death, rights may be exercised by an authorized person designated by the data subject, or in the absence of such designation, by close relatives under the Civil Code.

VI. Remedies

The data subject may:

  • Apply to Court: bring a claim before the competent regional court or the Metropolitan Court of Budapest.
